So here’s what we do for you. When you go out, you send me a text message to let me know (just like you would a best friend). I’ll send you a text back to let you know that I got the message, and I’ll keep in touch in a bit (again, just like a best friend would). Then, a while later I’ll text you again (in fact it will be exactly when you asked me to earlier), this time it’s to make sure that you are okay and having a good time (best friends tend to be a bit less reliable at this point, usually after a glass of wine – don’t worry, we don’t drink so you can rely on me). At this point, if you want to make your excuses and leave, now you’ve got the perfect reason. How convenient is that!
All you need to do, is reply to my messages with one word. You can tell me to check again later, leave you alone for the evening, phone you straight back or even get the police.
Whatever you need, you can be absolutely sure that I’m right there with you. All I care about it making sure that you have a great time and get home safely.
